HICKLING SCARECROW FESTIVAL 2022
10-11 September

It’s back!

The annual Hickling Scarecrow Festival has been running since 2001 and has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for local charities in that time.

This year, the festival will raise money for Maggie’s Nottingham and other local village groups.

As well as the scarecrows, The Plough Inn will be hosting a beer festival from 8-11 September featuring live music, food vans and of course, plenty of ales, beer and cider.

Please also be aware that there will be a number of temporary road restrictions from 8am-4pm on Saturday and Sunday. These are:

  • Main Street – from its junction with Hickling Road to its junction with Green Lane
  • Bridegate Lane – from its junction with Main Street for 100 metres in a westerly direction
  • Clawson Lane – from its junction with Main Street for 100 metres in an easterly direction

  1. Enjoyable day, as always, though occasionally a touch bizzarre. Well done, Hickling! Got to say the black monolith between the apes at no11 really threw us. Could have sworn it was 2001, A Space Odyssey. And Peter and Phillipa! What are you like?

  3. I would like to enquire about availability of a craft stall for the weekend festival 8th/9th September. Who should I contact – is there a number. I design my own sleepwear gift sets combined with matching make up bags, and would very much like to attend. My email address is lulu1international@gmail.com – thank you Louise Hopkins
