I hope everyone is keeping well during these unprecedented times. I would like to, as Vice Chair of the Parish Council, update parishioners on two planning applications (20/00619/FUL and 20/00620/RELDEM) at The Orchard. In the absence of our Chairman, who has declared an interest in both applications, the Parish Council received notification of the planning application on Friday 20^th March and councillors have since been studying these documents carefully. Over the last two weeks, residents have been making their own representations clear through the Rushcliffe Borough Council’s portal. Normally, for such a large application as this, the Parish Council would hold a public meeting to discuss this matter (noting the deadline has been extended to 25^th April 2020). Unfortunately this has not been possible. I provide this update to reassure all residents that the Parish Council will shortly lodge its own representation on these applications. Finally we are exploring the possibility of holding a formal virtual meeting, should this be at all feasible in these difficult times.
